EMPOWERING THE WOMEN, GENDER & OTHER RELATED ISSUES

1. Capacity building training to women forum on malnutrition-related issues-This year also 3 days of training to leaders of women forums were organized in 2 blocks in which 243 or more women participated from 11 forums and 2 federations. In this capacity-building training, discussions were held on nutrition during and after pregnancy, and neonates were discussed at length. This training resulted in the improved BMI of the women and their children in the community to the extent of 20-22 % in the community.
2. Organizing the meeting of bungalow level Damin Mahila Sangha– In this regard, 1 meeting is organized in which more than 52 women leaders participated. In these meetings following things were discussed-
   • Child marriage and trafficking issues in the region.
   • Girl Child dropout from the schools and its mainstreaming.
   • Proper functioning of health, nutrition, and educational institutions.
   • Improving the economic situation.

Through the effort, a 6 woman has been recovered from different trafficked sites with the help of local administration and people’s organization. These women have been supported by WSHG and Gram Kosh to stay at her home comfortably through the decision taken by Gram Sabha and different level women federations.

The federation through its effort and with the support of local gram sabha more than 200 families could have been linked with local PDS and tribal pension.
